Medical Physicist & Researcher
I am the leading researcher of the “Artificial Intelligence in Radiation Oncology” group at the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Medical University of Vienna (MUV). After graduation from the Carl-von-Ossietzky University in Oldenburg, Germany, I obtained my PhD in medical physics at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria, where I currently work as a senior postdoctoral researcher. During my career I was a research fellow at the Oregon Health & Science University (Portland, OR), the Children's Cancer Hospital in Cairo, Egypt and recently at the University of Umeå, Sweden.
My research focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence to automate, accelerate, and enhance radiotherapy processes, in addition to developing data-driven tools to support radiotherapy. In my role as the head of the IT group I have overseen the development and deployment of workflow management solutions, while also setting up an extensive framework for gathering clinical, dosimetric, and patient-reported outcome data.
